SOLDIER PILES / LAGGING

Soldier Piles are vertically installed elements, often H-Piles or Micropiles, that are spaced at intervals along the area to be reinforced.  Wood, steel or shotcrete lagging is installed between the piles to retain the soil behind the wall.

Using tiebacks can decrease the embedment depth of the pile or increase the resistance capacity of lagging, if required.
