TIEBACKS / ANCHORS

Tiebacks may be drilled & grouted or helical anchors and are used to resist lateral forces.  Tieback anchors can be used as part of an excavation support system or as a stand alone installation. 

A typical application for tiebacks is to relieve a portion of the lateral load from a sheet pile wall by transferring the load back into the ground.  This can reduce cost by allowing the use of thinner sheet piles and simplify design by decreasing the required embedment depth of the sheet pile.
